Reminder: Conference in English “What to do in case of a family or friend’s death”. 24th march at 11:00h

As people often do not know how to react to the loss of a loved one, the funeral company "La National" will give a conference in English on how to resolve in Spain all the necessary items involved, with the aim of giving a proper goodbye to your loved one. Uncertainty, differing local customs, complicated red-tape, language barriers and other inconveniences that arise can make that painful time even more traumatic if you do not know how to proceed. Information will be given on services offered such cremations, burial and repatriations. The conference will be at the Nerja Cultural Centre in C/ Granada 45 and will last aprox. 90 minutes.

Visiting the Nerja Town Hall Foreigners Department when you come to live to Nerja

When you come to live to Nerja for the first time, please come to our office at the ground floor of the Town Hall to receive advice and general information on what foreigners need when living in Spain. i.e. Buying a property, applying for NIE number or residencia, registering on the population list, building works, medical assistance,  motoring and taxes. The way of life in Spain is different from your country and our task is to make you enjoy your stay in Nerja and avoid unnecessary problems due to lack of knowledge or inadequate information.

Garbage tax to be paid only by shops and business premises until 20th April

Shops and business premises are liable to pay garbage tax until 20th April. If you have not received the invoice by post, please ask the Nerja Tax Office Patronato de Recaudacion at C/ Cristo 14 (near the Post Office). We advise to have all your taxes paid by bank order. For this, please take your bank account number to the Nerja Tax Office Patronato.

Grants to be given by Nerja Caves to associations, clubs and other societies

The Caves of Nerja have opened the period for applying for economic grants to Associations, Clubs and other Societies who are fully legalized. The finalizing date is 30th March 2010. Applications forms and information can be collected at the Nerja Caves or at the Nerja Foreigners Department of the Town Hall. Applications are to be presented at the Nerja Caves Office.
